Techstrong News Recap – September 26, 2022

Hi again, everyone here the headlines for September 26th. First up Facebook users are suing meta by accusing them of tracking on iOS through a loophole and Apple's privacy update. According to the lawsuit meta avoided Apple's new restrictions through Facebook's in-app browser, which opens links through the app itself.

These claims are based on a recent report that raised concerns or a Facebook and Instagrams in app browsers for tracking data. Apple released its major privacy update in April of last year and it struck a blow to social media companies that would track your user Behavior through for advertising purposes. In regards to this lawsuit, though meta has stated that the allegations were without Merit and that it would defend itself against it.

Next Tesla announced the recall for over 1 million of its cars the primary reason being problems with its automatic windows. According to Regulators the windows may not react accordingly after detecting an obstruction. This being said Tesla says that will fix this problem with the software update not a physical recall itself.

The recall covers all four of his car models in Tesla stated that it is not aware of any injuries or crashes related to the recall. While we were on the subject of cars, the rental car company hurts has announced that it plans to order 175,000 EVS from General Motors over the next five years. This GM order is the latest deal hurts.

His maid in order to boost its EV lineup. In the past hurts the sign deals with other EV makers and it plans to have 25% of its Fleet be electric by the end of 2024. In the past automakers haven't shown off deals with rental car companies since they sell these cars that a discount but the Fanfare of this deal could be a good sign for the electric vehicles industry.

France's new strategy will be a long-term response to this energy crisis where it hopes to increase its renewable energy sources to level similar in surrounding European countries.

Zooming out Francis currently 17th in the EU for renewable energy sources. Next up the live streaming service twitch has announced that they will ban gambling content. This announcement comes with several twitch streamers threatened to boycott the platform after one streamer reportedly misled people into giving him $200,000 to gamble with twitch hopes that this with this new band which will go into place on October 18th will help provide consumer protection and shield its Community from potential Harms.
