On Nov. 17, William Willis covered Binance’s proposal of a fund to help cryptocurrency exchanges avoid failure, NASA’s Artemis I Mission launch and Google’s settling a lawsuit for $392 million dollars with 40 states over location tracking charges. He also talked about YouTube increasing the amount of time users can play music on its short-form content. Finally, he previewed articles from Digital CxO, DevOps.com and Container Journal, which covered delegating tasks to AI tools, Atlassian’s addition of several capabilities to its Jira project management application and solving five common Kubernetes pain points.

Hi again, everyone here the headlines for November 17th. First up in light of the FTX trading's implosion last week The cryptocurrency Exchange binance is proposing a fund to save cryptocurrency exchanges from failure. The binance founder and CEO shengpang Xiao said the company would help create a Recovery Fund to help exchanges at our strong but are dealing with liquidity issues.
This being said he did not say anything about the size or scope of the proposed fund. The fun could act almost as an imposite insurance or Central Bank in a way since cryptocurrencies have no government backing whatsoever. Zooming out FTX is implosion is sent the price of several major cryptocurrencies down and it caused many other exchanges.
The face will draw requests prompting this Recovery Fund. Next after multiple months of delays and technical issues the Artemis 1 Mission took flight yesterday morning. At 1:47 am the space launch system or SLS lifted off from the launch pad in Florida with the Orion spacecraft attached on top of it.

The case goes all the way back to 2018 when news broke that Google continued to track up to 2 billion users location, even if they opted out. Google would then use this information to Target ads to its users to generate billions in ad Revenue.
Fast forward to May of 2020 when Arizona file the state action in one prompting other states to make their own lawsuits. Zooming out several of the attorney generals are calling this settlement a historic win with it being the largest multi-state settlement in US history concerning privacy. Next up in order to stay competitive in the short form content World YouTube has increased the duration that music or sounds can be played on YouTube shorts from 15 seconds to 60 Seconds.
Due to newly revised licensing deals YouTube has said that a majority of Music on shorts can now be played for the entirety of a short which maxes out at 60 seconds as well. YouTube plans to add this functionality over the course of the next couple weeks with its goal of this new update is to compete with tiktok and Instagram reels to control the short form video world. 5 billion users every month and get over 30 billion views a day, which they only expect those numbers to grow.
