Hi again, everyone here the headlines from March 23rd. First up. Google has revealed plans to make its AI chatbot Bard more widely available to users and a bid to compete with Microsoft's early lead with AI technology.
The chop out was previously only accessible to a small group of trusted users selected by Google but now a waitlist is being opened up for users to test the AI tool. To ensure the accuracy of the information provided by Bard Google is proceeding with caution limiting interaction between users and the chatbot as well as providing access to the tool through a separate site. While on the subject of Google it is suspended the Chinese shopping app pinu of Duo from its app store after discovering malware in versions of the app. The suspension was made due to the security concerns and Google is currently investigating the matter. Additionally Google warned users to uninstall any versions of the app not downloaded directly from its Play Store.
This action comes from a Miss growing tension between the US and China over Chinese owns apps such as tiktok, which some lawmakers believe could be a national security threat. Pendua Duo has released a statement denying any malicious activity as well as claiming that Google has not provided anymore information Beyond informing the company that the app is not compliant with Google's policies. In other news UK's competition regulator the competition and markets Authority has expressed concerns over the impact of us shipmakers broadcom 61 billion dollar acquisition of the cloud computing in virtualization firm VMware.
The CMA has warned that the deal could lead to higher server costs in less Innovation over time. Broadcom has been given five working days to address the concerns before the CMA decides whether or not to launch a more detailed investigation. Broadcom is stated that is working with the CMA to resolve any concerns Additionally.
The European Union is also expected to issue an antitrust warning about the deal with a decision expected by June 21st. ai, which will focus on creating trustworthy open source AI ecosystems. The initiative will be led by AI researchers and scientists with the hopes of influencing the AI industry through product not just policy.
Mozilla has a history of being a small but influential player in the tech industry. It has been tracking AI for a while publishing and creating trustworthy AI white paper all the way back in 2020. ai plans to build safety and transparency tools for developers rather than compete directly with products such as gpt4.
Mozilla has stated that it believes that disruption is coming in the browser space and that the startup can help Firefox win back some market share on Security Boulevard. com.
