Hi again, everyone here the headlines for August 8th. First in news a bipartisan proposal was presented to Congress which would hand regulatory authority over Bitcoin and ether to the Commodities Futures Trading Commission. Amazon isn't clearly outlined its plans after the acquisition but Amazon did recently launch its own smart home product Astro smart home robot. So it'll be interesting to see if it pulls off some software from the Roomba to enhance its launch.
next Canadian power chip maker Gan systems raised $150 million dollars in a funding round LED by Fidelity management and research There's been a crippling chip shortage. That is plagued almost every country. Yeah, again claims to have secured production volume with Taiwan semiconductor manufacturing Co Companies like BMW and Toyota have been long-term investors in Gan and the chipmaker recently signed its first capacity agreement with BMW guaranteeing the delivery of power chips.
These powerchips hold tons of importance in the car industry with about a hundred of them being used in each vehicle. Gan uses gallium nitrate allowing it to achieve four times reduction in power loss compared to the Silicon most other chipmakers use by securing 150 million in funding Gan will look to expand its foothold on the chip industry and it will continue to fill the needs of companies that depend on these chips. Next up researchers at Yale develop technology to restore cell and organ functions in pigs after their death in a new study the researchers induced cardiac arrest and anesthetized pigs using a heart lung machine alongside a new experimental fluid containing compounds that promote cellular Health the researchers found that multiple organ functions had been restored.
While the use of this technology on humans is far off.
