On August 11, Natan Solomon covered issues with Meta’s BlenderBot3 AI chatbot, the U.S. Department of Justice’s plans to sue Google and the expansion of Google Fiber. He also talked about the dangers of Tesla’s self-driving technology and Coinbase’s massive quarterly loss. Finally, he previewed articles from Container Journal, Security Boulevard and DevOps.Com, which discussed CloudNativeDay 2022, the toll ransomware attacks are taking on security experts and the newest quality verification standards.

Hi again, everyone here the headlines for August 11th. First in the news Med is blenderbot 3 AI chatbot, which was released last week is already making several false statements based on its interactions with real people. Unlike general purpose text bots blenderbot 3 was made with the purpose of having a conversation with you.
The bot is capable of searching the internet to chat about any topic and is designed to improve itself through feedback with previous conversations. However, it has become spewing political conspiracy. Theories meta seems determined to stick this out though in hopes that if the bot works as it should it will eventually filter out these responses.
Next up the US Department of Justice is planning to sue Google over its dominance in online advertising. 6% of digital ad spending last year. This lawsuit comes as government officials are pushing to reel in big Tech and minimize its influence in the e-commerce Market.
This is the second time the justice department has filed an antitrust lawsuit against Google back in 2020. The justice department filed an antitrust lawsuit for its dominance in the search Market as well and we'll have to wait and see how it's recent lawsuit develops. Speaking of Google it's high-speed internet service Google Fiber plans to expand to five states over the next several years.
This is the biggest expansion of the service since 2015 and it will cover 22 Metro areas across the United States five more than the 17 cities. It's currently in these new locations include cities across, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Nebraska and Nevada. Google Fiber said locations were chosen based on findings of where internet speed lacks and it'll be interesting to see how the expansion impacts these cities.
Next in the news a safe technology. Advocacy group The Don project issued claims that Tesla safe driving technology is a lethal threat to child pedestrians. From a safety test the Don project conducted the latest Tesla full self-driving software hit a child size mannequin in its path.
Over 100,000 Tesla drivers are already using full self-driving mode. Tesla has stated that full self driving is greatly improved and is expected to be available to all Tesla owners by the end of the year, but it's definitely scary to think this product may still have flaws. Next coinbase is reported a larger than expected quarterly laws as investors are shying away from trading in cryptos.
Trading volumes at coinbase have been greatly reduced since the previous quarter going from over 400 billion to 217 billion dollars. Coinbase expects trading volumes to fall further during this quarter from the recent collapse of crypto Ventures and a selloff in the markets. Looking out in the broader cryptocurrency Market, the combination of these two factors have half the value of Bitcoin in 2022 and for several cryptocurrency companies like coinbase to cut jobs.
On container Journal Mitch Ashley discusses his experience and thoughts on a panel. He led for the upcoming Cloud native day 2022. The band will consisted of a highly competent cybersecurity expert and another expert with deep experience and software architecture and Enterprise Cloud migration.
