Anyway that it was bad rookie mistake, but I'm really happy to be joined by my friend David's Sapphire David. Pronounce it right for me Stephanie. You got it.

I got it. Good David. Well, if you've watched Tech strung TV from kubecon and stuff before David's always always on our show.

He's a pleasure to have on thanks, but David's also the CEO founder of trilio. And he's gonna tell us all about trilio and stuff in his second sure, but David's generally one of the nice people in this community speaking it says that about everyone right? Yeah.

Okay. I'll tell you sorry after but anyway David first of all welcome and thank you. Thank you.

Secondly before we jump into the trillion story. Let's hear the David story a little bit. Oh boy David story.

Where do I begin many moons ago, right? No I said in an Enterprise software my whole career starting with development in the financial services industry was an investment banker during the Boom in the bus. I was Adventure capitalist for a while and actually had had funded companies that were competitors to yours many movies ago.

Yeah and the security space. Absolutely Bradford net worth. That's correct.

That's correct. And then and taking seed funding I had started a video Communications like an ecdm if you will, it's all that to Avaya and then you know from from there. I'd actually He sit on a panel at MIT.

Having a great conversation and this gentleman walks up to me as it was really balcha. Is this CTO and found a trillo as well? And they said I gotta tell you about this great idea that I have on cloud native data protection.

And at that time it wasn't a problem at all. Not a problem at all. And so I was intrigued so we sat we talked and started whiteboarding and seeing this great stuff and I said wow, he this guy is onto something he was out of the before.

He's a cto's office that EMC and so he kind of understood the evolution of this world really really well. Now he has three embarked on this journey together. It's been it's been great.

The reason I asked you to tell this David, yeah, you know, we did 16 interviews yesterday. I'll probably do 16 or more today a lot of Founders a lot of CEOs CEOs. Yeah, and a lot of people think.

Oh, I I'm a Wizkid who just graduated college and I had a great idea or I was a developer for three years and I saw any yeah, or I I served in 8200 unit in the eye idea. Right and I came out I worked for Microsoft for two years. It's like but the bottom line is that that these Founders are 20 something to You know want to go start a company and there are plenty of them and there are some really good ones really smart.

Absolutely. There's also founders. Who know their way around a boardroom?

No their way around the business plan. Yeah know their way around growing a business not just A spark of an idea. Yeah, and and those Founders and I consider myself one of absolutely right?

Yeah. It's a good thing and the bill and the industry needs those people as much as we need. The guy who just got out of the 8200.

Yeah and stuff like that. So if you see maybe a little of yourself and David there's a place here. I I totally appreciate that because I think what gets lost on us right towards people are all starting companies.

And and now that we're in this hybrid world, right? We don't have the the ability to get together every day and collaborate communicate as much as we did before and I think you know as a as a leader you have to realize it. Business is about people, you know this better, you know, just as well and better than everyone right and it's it's coaching and getting the best out of folks and it's in you know, and I tell you as CEO, you know, especially starting from a whiteboard right here you have your time is you're a therapist.

Right and I think a lot of stuff is lost on no it is lost it a lot of people focus. I got this great idea. I want to make it a reality and build it but there's more to growing a company and building a business than that and shouldn't be lost on people.

I appreciate that. I mean if anyone wants to have a conversation, I'm happy to talk. Absolutely.

All right. Yeah, I appreciate that. Let's jump into trilio now sure, so no they're Right, not everyone may know for Trulia.

Why don't we start there? What do you what is it you guys do absolutely. So we're Cloud native data protection solution.

We give people the ability to back up their applications with the associated data provide Disaster Recovery ransomware protection and actually application agility. So it's really being able to reorchestrate a point in time here there anywhere you want and really where the conversation starts to go is it's like my backup anymore. Let's talk about resiliency of an application.

Okay, and I think this conversation starts to evolve as this world matures to at an executive level. What's your tolerance for downtime? That is absolutely who cares with under the covers.

You know what in Security in general figures Cloud native for right now. Yeah. I just had this conversation with some folks are in a very big Framework, let's call it.

I don't want to mention it. Resiliency. Yep, 100% is where it's at.

I totally it leaves in this day and age when we have so many threats. Things are moving in such a pace. Yeah, and the complexity not to mention the economy and our risk collar when when there's a bed economy.

You don't get extra bites at the Apple 100% And so resiliency has got to be part of your Gameplay top of Mind whether or for security at what was in great over the last year. I've seen a lot of the security conversations ciso's now right are saying recovery is just as much part of this life cycle in Paradigm as protected stuff that we interpreting about for for years. No absolutely, but it's great.

Right? So you start to now identify remediate and recover as part of this conversation. So we're now starting to see actually from budget perspective people pulling from security budgets to have recovery as part of that conversation.

So they're pulling from prevention. Yeah, because recovery is part of you if recovery is not part of your security. Fatality, you got a crappy security mentality, right?

Yeah, because it's not you know again, we've been saying every years it's not if it's when when and and you've got to have that one plan as part of your plan agree. So anyway, what's new at the show for you guys any news so Engineering has been very busy. As always.

We've had a lot of announcements. So we announced our integration to ACM over red hat. So we're a big believer a Fleet Management going back to policy.

put the policy of backup and protect these clusters policy but it all propagate itself and do the right things that needs to do that simple. Right? That was one item.

Another item is we've done all now the Integrations with Rosa and arrow on the red hat side. So if people want to migrate from on-prem to off-prem, yeah, and they can do that now with true and then continue to protect in that Journey along with that is now making sure that we're tied into all the market places appropriately consumption-based billing all the good things that we're accustomed to when you're leveraging AWS. Sorry Etc.

And then the next big thing was going GA with continuous restore. So last time you and I spoke we talked about a tech preview of this. Yes, I remember so we're really excited about continuous restore is the ability to you know, disaster recovery from a traditional sense.

We're expecting we're you know, we used to spending better right and then you have to have Are connected the hardware and then someone to manage all that so and then forget about testing that too. The cloud native world doesn't test it when you needed it and then you found out that yeah, I could restore you in about two weeks that only about 80% right? So we'll continuous resource gives you the ability is take a single point in time propagate it to as many clouds as you want simultaneously.

And then always keep those clouds up to date. So now with one source of Truth. I can have a production cloud in AWS.

I can have a Dr. Cloud in Azure. I give a test Dev cloud in GC Fleet gcp and oh by the way something bad happens.

I can have another Cloud to forensically take apart those workloads all using the same data. It's it's evolutionary and revolutionary In This Cloud native world. I love it really pumped.
