This is texturing TV. Hey everyone. We're back here live at a kubecon cloudnativecon.
Just waving through one of the 10,000 people walking around out here it this show which is kind of exceeded expectations. I know it was sold out, you know, and it just in in person is back, right? We've been doing Cloud.
We've been doing Cube cons. Oh for about five years now. And I think the biggest one was the one in San Diego right before covid and but this one is is getting close to that.
Right? It's probably right around there. I want to introduce you to our next guest his name is Roy yeah Roy RAV food, I want to make sure I got that right Roy raffle.
Oh, yeah, and Roy is within out. Right. I feel like did we meet maybe was it y'allah devops or was there another event where I've seen finale?
I think we spoke in Detroit. Let's go in Detroit Detroit coupon in Detroit. Yes.
That's what it was. Okay. So Roy I'm gonna ask if you don't mind the audience that we spoke in Detroit may not be familiar with thin out at you.
Why don't we start with your background? Sure. So I'm already co-founder and CEO of fan out started my way in these really intelligence units like most Israeli Founders, I guess.
Yeah 8200, right exactly. So I spend their seven years something ridiculous like that and afterwards they joined a company called log Zao. I joined them when we were 10 people singing in an old bridal salon in the port of Tel Aviv and moves through a couple positions within engineering the last one.
I was engineering director responsible for the entire infrastructure and there I had to like constantly balance between the SLA and the cost efficiency side of things, you know, so with the SLA I wanted to spend up more servers to make sure that we're always, you know over provisioned and we can run and on my head You know Cloud Financial Manager. I had to reduce that and make sure that we're efficient and you know that kind of dial and our lack of ability to actually, you know report cost metrics back was you know, something that pushed us to towards finna. Got it.
so Talk give us I mean that was kind of the fin-out story. But let's take it now from that point. So today let's say tell us about that Journey.
So I know startup life is a is hectic at best. So we're a little over two years old raised 18 and a half million dollars in two rounds until late for the employees sitting in Tel Aviv in New York and building a building thin out. Now.
We started the first show that we did ever was a cube con Valencia. So we showed like a four people didn't know what what are we doing with the very bad booth and a non-working product and now like a year Ford into Cube cons. And you know, I think that the journey is been it's been amazing like our maturity.
Yes. It's an industry and as as a product, I think involved I evolved a lot like cost management became, you know, one of the hottest topics on the planet at the moment and we really are pushed by the industry to do lots of very cool stuff and to innovate and to do you know more support towards kubernetes which became you know, the default operating system for for everyone and starts to be like major a major thing that we need to do in support and I think the you know, that journey is being it's been amazing. Absolutely.
All right. One last thing before we jump into news. Website website.
io. We have all the all the information that that is needed there like a white papers case studies solution riffs on whatever this we're doing and you know the ability to just sign up directly on the website and we can now we can start a POC super quick. It doesn't take any agent and five minutes worth of integration.
Actually, all right. So now we're here as I said earlier 10,000 people at Cloud native con. Kubecon.
What's news from find out here at the show? So last week we announced the general availability of our cost governance with for kubernetes. So essentially what Fino does is we can take costs from multiple different providers.
So we support all Cloud providers but also Solutions like datalog and Snowflake and in databricks and those sorts of stuff and put it all into into one place and you know kubernetes is a very big cost challenge because the cloud provider is billing you by the instance, but you're actually running pods. So you have like some kind of obstruction layer that you need to translate between the two so we'll find out always supported that, you know, breaking down that obstruction using, you know, commodity tools like Prometheus or data log without installing any additional stuff. We now edit the ability to add kubernetes into you know, every other, you know feature that we have to have like a full Suite of cost management for kubernetes.
This means that we can start to use those whatever breakdown that we have on kubernetes in order to allocate costs directly to Teams that have associated with if you know the feature the product line whatever we can create budgets and anomalies and do like entire cost governance Based on kubernetes data that can come from all click free clouds without you know Warring that we're missing something or we can get under Under reporting with with the cost. And we also added a feature called Coast Guard which is our Costa cost governance Suite that helps companies reduce costs. And now we added kubernetes support to it as well.
So companies can right size the recubernetes kubernetes deployments and whatever resource they're using because you know Island like usually when developers is pushing new stuff to production and just over requesting resources and we will deal with it later. But we never are right. So costcourt can scan all of the you actually usage of the kubernetes resources.
See, you know, what's the actual difference between the requested side and you actually use it side and we can recommend like and put it dollar sign. To each recommendation like just change that request from 10 gig to 5 gig because I never used doesn't want to resources and you can save that amount of money directly. So what a great announcement good stuff.
What's been? I know it's only kind of the first day of official he could come but they had stuff going on yesterday. And so what what's been your impression so far?
So I think yeah, I think the venue is amazing and the attendance is is outstanding and the defense sold out. I think a month ago, you know, I had a bunch of WhatsApp groups that people are begging for tickets. Maybe someone have anyone thing spare or something like that as it was amazing to see and it's great to see, you know in events coming back to to the full Glory of of kubecon and there's tons of vendors here tons of people super super exciting.
Actually, what else anything else share with the audience? so you know cost management is I think on top of on top of everyone minds and every CFO and every CEO is actively looking for ways to reduce costs into allocate it and especially when running on kubernetes starts to see like modern cost challenges that we didn't see before and like very easy basic reporting of you know of cost and Making you know what the organization to adapt into the Finn up state of mind which means you know Engineers are more responsible for the for what they're doing and more responsible for for their expense doing it without the tool that can really help, you know to tie. Everything together is very very hard.
So phenom's culture is more important than a fan of stool. But in order to create a good fin of sculpture, usually a tool is something that is something that is required So within out we can take you know cost from all different providers. We can give one holistic solution for the entire organization that is catering both devops and fan Ops and finance personas all all in one platform that we can we can change the way to speak directly into unit economics or cost per customer and those kinds of more advanced capabilities was still not neglecting the you know, optimization stuff and basic basically visibility Edition and we're the most competitively priced solution in the market.
It's a guarantee and Also have like a special discount during kubecon that the folks can I can claim but coming through both and scheduled meeting. So we're here startup 25 right down the hall and yeah, so we're excited to talk to everyone excellent that Right. Thank you.
Thank you so much for having me again. You don't wait till the next few kind of talk to us. Yeah, we're live in Amsterdam at cubecon.
We're gonna take a break and we'll be right back.
