Everything Blockchain Inc. (EBI) CEO Toney Jennings explains how zero-trust IT will be achieved using a blockchain platform to secure data.

We're here with Tony Jennings. Who is CEO for everything blockchain? We're gonna be talking about how blockchain is gonna be used for everything from helping you secure your data to backing up and recovery and all kinds of new interesting things that are coming down the way as they filed a couple of patents recently in this whole Space Tony walk in the show.

I don't think a lot of people know a lot about your company and what you guys are up to. So maybe you kind of walk people through how you're using blockchain to kind of do some things that are outside of the whole cryptocurrency space, but you're using some of the fundamental techniques. Yeah, happy to do that.
So I think it's first and foremost one of the first things we try to emphasize to people to help them understand is that we are not a crypto company. We've historically, you know helped with some crypto projects and we've done some crypto plays but at the end of the day, we're really not a crypto company. We're a blockchain platform worth technology platform.
And you know our blockchain happens to have some very special, you know, abilities relative to traditional blockchain. I think traditional blockchain you can think about it really is ideally suited for things like cryptocurrency and defiant things like that where you don't require what I would call, you know, operating at the speed of business. You don't need to operate in your real time or anything like that.
Our blockchain has the ability as you know, the ability to operate. Well it like we like like to say is at the the speed of business in your real time for things that we say go beyond crypto things like supply chain or things like, um, you know taking day off biot devices that need to operate in your real time. So being able to take data literally at the speed of business and shoving into blockchain, so you Of you know the ability to operate at that speed but still have all the benefits and protections that blockchain afford that that kind of data.
So we're a little bit different in that our platform really is focused on those. Let's call it off label uses for lack of a better word for for blockchain things. You know, that really go beyond the traditional thinking of blockchain as really more cryptocurrency and you know that sort of thing.
So one of the things you guys did build was a drive. So how does that work? And and why will that change the way we think about securing data?
Yeah. Yeah. So EB drive, you might have talked to Cedric about this particular one, you know in a previous previous interview, but and really he's the the technical genius behind this.
All I can tell you is that because of the way our particular blockchain is is architected. It has security built in it's not a layer that's above or below our blockchain is actually built in by Design two the blockchain. So in addition to having the typical protections you get around, you know transparency, you know can't being Camp approve things like that with blockchain.
We also have trust built in literally built into the chain as well. The chain itself is duplicated in a number of different ways such that it really turns out to be kind of tamper proof and Also ransomware proof from that perspective. So it's something that we think will, you know be revolutionary or revolutionary at least from the from a you know, data storage perspective because it will give you the ability to protect yourself against ransomware attacks.
So I think that's really the the talking point here is that with you know, our EB Drive technology, which is not in the market yet. We will have the ability to you know, hopefully assist our customers with being able to you know, be a lot more assured that their storage is is going to be secure. It's going to be you know tamper where it's gonna be tamper prove.
It's gonna be safe for rent somewhere as well. And there's also now a data protection platform. So is that also under development?
And where are we with that one? No, our EB control platform is out in the market. Now.
It's been released the best way to think about EB control. It's think of it as a zero trust data access platform. We're Focus initially really on you know, small to medium businesses as we move toward Enterprise, you know later in the year, but it's really been designed to allow you to let's say that I want to share a file with you, right?
You know, typically if I'm going to share a file with you that I'm just gonna have to trust you to protect that file with the same level of diligence that I would I'm at the trust that your Network's lock down and tight enough that someone's not going to break into your network and get hold of that file with EB control though allows me to encrypt that file with certain Sports of additional policy protects that live on top of that. So in other words, I'm Mike I'm gonna send you It's going to be encrypted. So it's not only crypto on my system.
It's encrypted on the way to your system. It's encrypted on your system as well. And it's even encrypted when you use that information or you view that information.
Okay, so it's essentially protected in use. So it's I'm gonna send you this file before you're able to view that information before decrypt is going to assure you sure that you really are Mike visitor. It's gonna ask where you are because I might have said hey, I wanted geofence this this information.
It'll allowed to be viewed in certain geolocations. I'm gonna Time Fence the file. I might say, hey, you've got a week to view this and then it's not gonna be viewable anymore or for whatever reason.
I might decide that I sent you this file today and I want to revoke your access tomorrow in real time for whatever reason I might decide I want to do that and even if you are, you know, Mike in the right location in the right time frames, I still might want to enforce data Rights Management such that you can view the file. You can't forward it you A copy you can't print it. You can't save it.
Right. So it's really allows me to be able to confidently send data to other people outside of my secure domain and understand that that data will remain secure. So think of it as a we put it in touch into a container or a little portable Vault that travels with that data no matter where it goes forever.
That's the best way to think about it. See you guys have this kind of fundamental technology and you're applying it to different use cases. So what else do you thinking about here?
Are there other areas and security or other things outside of security that you may be looking at? Yeah, I think well, we'll continue to be focused on blockchain and kind of cyber security and zero trust when I think about zero trust and blockchain, they're both platforms of trust. That's really what they're all about.
Right allowing people that you don't necessarily have to trust but the platform itself kind of conveys that trust allows that trust to happen allows you to understand that a transaction really did took place what that transaction looked like allow me to be able to trust that data. I'm sharing with somebody that data that security will remain so it's really about being able to trust have platforms to trust in a world where no trust is an automatically necessarily guarantee. Right?
So it allows us to kind of guarantee or give at least have a platform to you know, be able to do transactions and do business in a way that can be Trust So we're like we may focused on that. I think if you look forward more and more of our efforts will be focused on. Finding those use cases where our you know, the capabilities of our particular blockchain technology lend themselves to solving what I would call real world business problems things, like again examples could be measuring methane gas for instance off of iot sensors across production of systems where you need to know that the data coming off that system has not been tampered with things like that that it's a real single source of Truth could be supply chain.
It could be, you know medical records. It could be the stock exchanges. There could be a number of areas where you need to have, you know, a very performant very resilient type of a blockchain platform and we'll be looking for those use cases in the business world where that where that makes sense.
What exactly is your blockchain platform and how is it different from you know, some of the ones that people are more familiar with? Yeah. But you know, we typically think about blockchain you're thinking about public blockchain projects where you know, literally anybody can jump on board that platform and do transactions.
We're a little bit different than that. We are a private blockchain technology. We have a proprietary way of doing consent arriving at consensus which happens very very fast.
Again, typically our blockchain can add blocks and query query information out literally in some millisecond speed so literally almost in real time. It's also because of the consensus algorithm use it's very green relative to other blockchains that may may use proof of work or something like that. So competition is very very lean relative to you know, typical blockchain Solutions.
So it's all therefore we would like to call it a Green Solution. So it's very fast. It's very green.
It's high for secure and that again we built security into this from day one the very fact that it's a private blockchain. Actually also links to the security as well. But we've essentially, you know built this from the Strat from scratch to be very very secure from the beginning.
So what we were looking for is something that was hyper secure very quick very green computationally that we could actually and very accessible. It's something that essentially you integrate on it with a very sequel like language so it's very pluggable. So what we like to think of this as we believe there's a lot of businesses and potential customers out there who intuitively know that blockchain to help them they bit they just may not know how to approach solving that problem.
How do they get access to a blockchain? How do they use that use blockchain to solve their problems? So what we think we have is a platform that is approachable.
I guess they're accessible is one way to think about it as well as having these these natural, you know abilities the naturally lend itself to working in those, you know, like it's a real world. This is environment. That's probably the best way I can describe it at this point.
Do you think people are somewhat intimidated by blockchain right now? And they're not quite ready to think about how they're going to apply it or are we on the cust of a shift here where people are going to be saying? Hey, what can't we apply blockchain to?
Yeah sure what? I think there's a lot a lot of shoot to that Mike. I think it's Like encryption, you know, you mentioned encryption Mission blockchain that's typically kind of mathematical gobble to do a lot of folks.
Um, obviously the more it's out there. I think that's shipping me bit, but I still think right now there's not a lot of folks really understand blockchain. To a great degree.
I think they understand a lot of the benefits of blockchain but certainly is in terms of really understand the technology how they can access that technology how it can really help solve their problems. I think there's still a lot of work to be done on our engine and you know by the industry to help people understand at the end of the day blockchain is really just a database right? It's it's all a really is.
It's just happens to be a database that is tampons and offers a degree of transparency. So when you think about it in those terms, but if you stop thinking about blockchain the technology and you stop thinking about things like the encryption and things like that, they go into it, you know all the technical complexity at the end of the day, it's simply it's a very simple Ledger. It's it's a simple that it's right.
Well we've been able to do is take the database portion of that make it much more, you know akin to you know, Leading Edge, you know modern, you know, database technology that just also happens to you know, provide data those blockchain protections. So we just kind of That concept of database taken into the next level but in the day we try to help people understand. It's really the in the day just a special that type of a database.

Get around some of the sins of the past in terms of how we manage data because we have a new set of database Technologies coming down and the good news is we've seen them before and we know how they work. We're just starting to figure out how to use them. Differently, Tony.
