This is texturing TV. Hey everyone, welcome back to techstrong TV our next guest. It's actually I think his first time on techstrong TV, but certainly you're familiar with this company.
Let me introduce you to Omer Cohen Omer. Is the Executive Vice President of strategy AJ frog and for those of you who? You know frequently watch text on TV.
Of course, you probably know Jay frog one of the kind of the pillars and the devops community and defect cops, but let's welcome Omar Omer. How are you? Hi, and thanks.
Thanks for inviting me a great great having you having been here. our pleasure to have you so over as I said, I think a lot of our audience is familiar with Jay frog but they're not familiar with you. So why maybe give us a little bit of your background?
First so yeah, it's my first time here. Thanks for the invitation again. So, my name is Omar.
I'm based in Tel Aviv Israel. I'm in Jay frock for more than more than 10 years. And in my my walk here, I'm leading the strategy just like you mentioned leading the strategy of the company.
And it means that my job is helping the company grow. Now part of it is through Acquisitions and others and part of it is through strategic Partnerships. And this is I think exactly what we're going to talk about now.
No, maybe about Jay from oh, sorry. Yeah. Yeah.
No, go ahead. Thank you. As you mentioned probably the audience is well familiar with Jake Paul, but just to make sure maybe somebody audience are not so Jeff works and developing the software supply chain platform.
That's what they we have. And the idea of course is to power organizations from build to manage and to distribute your software quickly and secure that we're doing it through three main business units, of course as we call it. The first one is devops so that factoring and not only and it's actually the devops source of truth.
I would say and above that. We have another layer of security. So talk to supply chain security.
And I think what you need is is the I would say three things and first of all what the remediation with Focus so with contextual analysis, we're not only pouring pulling your or your CVS or your vulnerability that you so you can now handle it but giving you some prioritization throughout modern mediation on top of that. Second one is obviously an amazing outstanding vulnerability research team. I cannot you know, not say that and the third one is this connection seamless connection integration with artifactory.
So you have the best software supply chain security, but also connected to the devops source of Truth and it brings the package that you just cannot miss. And the third one is iot because you know what? Updating your software your software doesn't end in the software supply chain or in the software development life cycle, but it ends in the device in the device on the on your hand.
And so the next call is also iot that actually take takes this package take this release bundles and push it to the device. So all of that, this is Jay frog of course from product side. I won't get to the business side because I can talk for hours.
com, right and I first started covering Jay frog it was all about devops and artifactory and stuff, right the security has been layered on and I think as software Not just eats the world, but that software continues beyond the data center beyond the cloud to the edge and Beyond right to the iot device. So has the mission of Jay frog grown with that and I think you enunciated it. Very very well there now.
But you know what? I've been in technology 30 years, right? It's a lesson I've learned is no matter how big a company is or how You know much they Aspire no one company can do it.
All right, and that's why. I I was also a chief strategy officer in a couple of the companies. I founded right and you know to what I loved about it was the corporate development role where you're doing perhaps Acquisitions and but also the Strategic Partnerships because as I said, no one company can do it all and you you need to work within the ecosystem.
Right, and I think that's what we're going to talk about today. You guys recently announced. A decent a pretty big Partnership.
Of course, Jay Park has several Partnerships. I know. Google I believe and and others at AWS, but let's talk about this new one.
Great. Yes. So first I totally agree with what you were saying.
Jay from believe that it's part of an ecosystem and as such it's need to be connected to every other elements this of this this ecosystem, you know part of what we are what what we are saying actually value in our codex is customer happiness and as such We are first committed to our users our customers to have as you know, full platform full ecosystem and as possible. So we are echoing with the and connecting with with the collaboration side and we'll also integrating and collaborating with observability side, which we will talk now in a second and even in the observability observability side, it's not only to one to one partner but to many but what we will focus say today is about the Logan analytics integration and that we just launched in a few weeks ago. with New Relic it were very proud of and it's an integration that actually give all of our users a devops security and and the operation things a real-time Insight that is needed to optimize the software supply chain environment and to accelerate actually the time to Market and identify problems and later on obviously save money and which you know, it's but we all want yeah.
Yeah, I absolutely you know, it's funny. We actually I come to find out that one of the svps at New Relic actually lives right near our offices here. We had him in last week for a an interview like this in person and and we were discussing how important the connection between security and observability, right?
That's a really I mean some people don't think of observability as a security that's necessarily a security. Peace, but it really is. right it really is and and I think that also plays very well, you know right into what would jayfrog is is about and doing so if you don't mind just a little bit and we don't have to get too technical, but could we talk about how this integration works?
Is it an API? That allows information to go back and forth. Is there a common interface?
You know, what what exactly how what's involved here? Yeah. so first of all, I think that and maybe the difference between between disintegration and others is the relationship that we have with the New Relic which is which is great and it's and Jeff Hook is actually recognized as an entity in your Relic and this is maybe the interesting part.
So when when log or metrics so data starts to flow into New Relic J fox servers will make a automatically recognized and an entity group and listed and everything is going as part of this and and it actually gives Jay frog I would say first class cities and feel within the New Relic and you can all of course go into our blog joint blog and take a look at how the UI how the dashboard looks like. It really feels. It feels good.
Okay, it looks good. It feels good and it helps. Any Persona that I just mentioned to to enjoy the experience?
So if you are an SRE right from the operational side and you can you can you can always see the day-to-day operation and the devops tools if you are a DeVos and organ engineer direct or VP probably you want to take a look at you know, the metrics on how the developers there maybe a producing and uploading builds how they may be utilizing the different repos or Jay frog instances. And if you mentioned security and how security is important into the observability, so they usually want to track security and license issues maybe to to set alarms and notifications. They can also track the policy security goals and so on so all aspects all different personalities that are working with us and enjoy this integration.
Love it. So in order to make use of this integration, you have to be both a customer or user of jfrog and New Relic. Correct, correct?
and then just an in terms of over. Like let's Okay. So I'm a j for our customer and I'm also in a New Relic customer and I said, okay, this sounds great.
I want to I want to do this. How do I make that happen? Yes, so first I'm happy that you want to do it and good side.
Yeah. Yes, and then the easy part you can actually go to either Jay frog or to a New Relic website in jfrogen through a j4 Partners page and just get in and download and use it in the new relative you go to the I think it's the j4 platform quick start and that's how we called. And just start walking doing small connection.
It's really small one and you can start walking. It's probably traffic. Is there an extra charge?
To do this or if you're already customers or no? Yeah, no, no extra charge. Just just enjoy it and enjoy.
It's no matter what subscription you have. You can enjoy it. Any commercial words?
That's great. Sounds great. America like Wildwood, I think we've got this new Relic.
I know it's okay. I mentioned to the New Relic fellow they're gonna be a cube con about two weeks or so in Amsterdam. I'm sure Jay frog will be there as well.
And and people can come by and see you there. And then also Jay frog is it's gonna be at RSA the week after that the RSA security conference in San Francisco. I think your participate not you may be personally but participating in our devsecops event on the Monday at Moscone Center South.
So excited to have as always Jay frog involved over excited to be absolutely all right. Oh, yeah. Oh mere I keep saying.
Oh mirror. I apologize Homer. Are you so good over.
Thank you for being on Tech strong TV with us today and we can go if you are a New Relic customer and a Jay for our customer go check out this integration. It doesn't cost anything and it sounds like it. Pretty easy to set up.
What can you what do you have to lose there? But over you'll come back on and talk with us again, hopefully soon. But thank you very much for being here today.
Thank you so much Alan. Alrighty, we're gonna take a break on Tech struck TV. We're gonna be back with another guest in a moment.
Stay tuned.
