Previously on engineering the change there's a lot of startup and tech companies here and they're all really hungry for you know, good Dev Talent download. My name is come. Hi.
My name is Stephanie. Next 10 weeks is gonna be really rough. This is probably one of the most amazing journey, you're gonna embark on we've been doing basic JavaScript functions variables.
You have to celebrate it. Take a moment. When you solve a problem to actually celebrate and get excited and it's cool.
Like you see somebody across the room do that. You're like, yeah. Hi.
This week has been actually starting because I know this is the beginning of like the rest of my life has corny as a sound. Everybody is awesome. The whole experience so far is awesome.
This week our scholarship winners get a reality check and are forced to step it up as they delve deeper into more challenging coding projects. So of all the students Stephanie is probably the most difficult for me to to get a temperature read on one of my struggles is Not being so hard on myself when I don't understand something. Stephanie is very quiet in class.
She's very focused. That's pretty cool that I've been able to expand my mind to be able to accept different ways of doing something. She's on the right track.
Donald came to me earlier today and and told me that he felt like he was drowning. I'm still you know, got to grasp the fundamentally Donald is another f****** story. He is honestly starting to scare me a little bit.
And right now he's definitely in you know, I'd say in the bottom four or five as much as he's struggling Donald really really wants this Harley's going through a lot personally right now her house burned down in Haiti twice in 24 hours. I love you and over that I come here I study. And I will make it.
She is very strong. If I had to pick someone as the strongest student in the class A hundred percent, I would I would pick Carly. Carly Donald and Stephanie are beginning to struggle with a high expectations and quick pace of the class.
last week I thought was hard but this week I really I had a moment where I was like can I really do this? I think I'm doing very well in creating apis and creating projects with our base. I would say the most important thing is that you can't just specifically focus on just one program.
It has to be like you have the least focus on like I would say the most important ones are Sequel and mongodb. I know that I am learning and I am retaining such as I give myself the grace in the time to actually be able to continue to continue information when you have a student that's asking really basic fundamental questions or can't answer fundamental questions. Then of course we're concerned we do this thing where every Friday we have a retro info for retro the staff to get together and talk about the students that are doing good and those that sort of need attention.
It was a surprise to me when that was invention. He did very very poorly the leading instructor. He told Dawn aside and said hey, you know you either gotta In way more hours and work twice as hard so you can make it to the end or you can decide to maybe do this another time.
Unfortunately, he kind of just gave up and quit in an unexpected turn of events. Donald has dropped out of the class the two remaining scholarship winners those stunned double their efforts and vow to finish strong. I feel more confident.
Thanks to Todd my Highs are. Really just feeling off of energy in the in the classroom because sometimes when I feel down like I don't understand and someone will just say something. It'll just kind of bring me back up.
Wait, so that's my high just being around you all and it keeps pushes me. From the first cohort till now I still think you know, they're all they're all superstars.
